All manufacturers and suppliers have a general common law duty of care to inform consumers of the risks inherent in using their products. Alcohol manufacturers and suppliers (which includes government liquor authorities) have not yet been held accountable for failing to inform Canadian consumers of the risks of alcohol consumption.
