Health Minister Jane Philpott said she “takes responsibilities to improve the health and well-being of all Canadians very seriously.” I hope that includes people born with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). It’s time to put graphic labels on alcohol. We need doctors informing women and men that alcohol causes permanent brain damage to the developing fetus, along  with many other conditions. My children and countless others are being ignored, misunderstood and mistreated. If these kids are lucky enough to get a correct diagnosis, the parents are then faced with educating themselves and everyone else. There are no programs for parents and individuals affected by alcohol. No specialists to contact for help with their special needs. Knowledge is best when shared.
