I purchased a new TrackIR 5: Optical head tracking system and PRO clip and it arrived yesterday. I installed the software TO THE LETTER but when I plugged the camera in, when i click on the software, it shows 'device not detected' the camera does not turn on and then the software freezes. I cannot 'End Task' and the only way to stop it is to physically hold down my pc power button, which is not ideal at all.I have tried uninstalling it and deleting all traces before reinstalling it and trying again but nothing seems to be working. As I typed this, I used the above suggestion to start the program and then plug it in - I can confirm that this works for me - however, you MUST unplug the camera before turning off the software, otherwise it will crash. Please could somebody provide an update on this as I don't believe it should be behaving in this way.Thank youRob CBRadi0_89 Posts: 1 Joined: Thu Oct 03, 2024 12:04 am Re: HELP - TrackIR5 Stopped Working. A larger variety of settings for more complex backup scenarios. So, I’d recommend this one for doing backups.4. Compress Your Files Before CopyingI have a folder with numerous sub-folders and several thousand files that I regularly backup. It’s almost 10GB. By compressing it, it shrinks to nearly 3GB, making it much faster to copy it. You can use the built-in compression tool in Windows or try WinRAR or 7zip. It takes a few minutes to compress your files, leaving you with one large file which copies very quickly. The built-in tool doesn’t work as well for photos and videos, so I’d try one of the other tools for those types of files.5. Turn Off Search IndexingI know search indexing speeds up efficiency when searching, but it can wreak havoc on copying files quickly. I’ve tried turning off search indexing a few times and it has made a major difference in my speeds. You just have to turn it back on when you’re done.Press Win + R and type services.msc. Press OK. Double-click Windows Search. Set the Startup Type to Disabled. Click Stop to immediately stop the service and click Apply.6. Prevent Windows Freezing While CopyingWindows gets randomly angry and freezes when you try to copy files quickly, especially larger files or a large number of files. If you don’t want to spend your time starting over, keep the following in mind:Close all other apps and let Windows focus on copying. Since it’s a resource intensive process, running other apps slows the entire process down and even freezes the system.Check available space. Even if copying won’t completely fill the drive, if it’s low on space, Windows often freezes or gives an error about low space. File Explorer was known as Windows Explorer on Windows 7. Starting Windows 8, Microsoft has renamed Windows Explorer to File Explorer, and it is known on Windows 11 with the same name (File Explorer).I couldn’t understand why it was known as Windows Explorer in the earlier version of Windows; why was it renamed to File Explorer? Will Microsoft apologize that Windows Explorer was erroneously named, or current CEO of Microsoft will speak something about File Explorer? I could not understand yet what was going on with Microsoft. What is the logic behind that? They are just changing the name of the same items when they launch another Windows version. Doesn’t it cost the organization to teach its employees? You are a big boss, and you can make any decision whatever you want.Right, leave it an open confession session for Microsoft, and we should talk about our topic to restart File Explorer quickly on Windows 11/10. Due to some reason, if you want to restart your File Explorer in Windows 11/10/8/7, it is possible to create a batch file on your computer or laptop. It is also possible to kill the File Explorer from the task manager and then start the File Explorer using the task manager. To restart File Explorer in Windows 11/10, you need to do the following:-Activate the task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc hotkey and navigate to the Processes tab. Now, locate the Windows Explorer process, right-click on it, and select the Restart option. However, if your Windows Explorer/File Explorer freezes or stops working frequently, you should create a batch file to restart Explorer. Once you have created a batch file, double-click on it will restart File Explorer easily. To do that, open a Notepad file on your PC and then copy the following lines and paste it into the Notepad file:-@echo offtaskkill /f /im explorer.exestart explorer.exeNow, click on File Menu and select Save as option.Select the desired location on your PC where you want to save this batch file. Next, do the following:-Write RestartExplorer.bat in front of the File name box.Select the All Files option from.
