2025-04-09The beginning of the install. When running a Win XP install, there was always an option to "Press F6 to load driver" during the first part of the install. I didn't see anything like this with Win 7 install. What is this "Load Driver Method" which you both recommended? May 18, 2010 4,852 0 26,960 #8 At the beginning of windows 7 install, you should see an option to pre-load drivers. Have the driver on a usb thumb drive or a CD or a DVD. I found it is easier to load from a USB drive. The 3.0 ports usually do not work until the 3.0 drivers are loaded, so use a 2.0 port. USB drive needs to be formatted in FAT32 which is factory settings for most. Jul 22, 2013 4,745 0 24,960 #9 At the beginning of windows 7 install, you should see an option to pre-load drivers.
