XP and all the later version including Windows 10. Although this is pretty old software, it does work smoothly on the latest version of Windows. Talking about driver backup, it does that job pretty well and without any lag or anything else. You do not have to spend a lot of time to get things done because of the smoothness provided by this tool. You can move the backup anywhere you want including an external driver. However, the only disadvantage of this tool is it doesn’t check for updates. Although it is not a setback as other tools are doing this, you can count it.5] Slim DriversSlim Drivers is a multi-functionalities based Windows software that helps you do various things including backing up drivers. If you install this software on your computer, you do not have to look for any other tool to check updates or anything like that since it does all those things easily. As mentioned earlier, Slim Drivers is available for free. However, you can opt for the PAID version to get all the unlimited options. Talking about the compatibility, you should have Windows XP or a later version. Being said that, this is available for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 as well as 10. The advantage of using this tool is the response time. It can check for updates and backup drivers within moments. It doesn’t matter whether you have five drivers or fifty, you can back them up with ease.6] Driver MagicianDriver Magician is one of the best tools out there that can create a backup of your drivers. No matter whether you are using Windows XP or Windows 10, you can certainly backup all the drivers installed in your system. Is your computer running slower than when you first got it? It can happen due to viruses or malware, but there are also other issues that can creep in over time to slow things down. Fortunately, there are several things you can do some things to speed up your computer to make it seem new again.Instructions in this article apply to Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7. Clean up Junk Files and Programs Getting rid of unnecessary files, applications, and other "junk" is an effective way to speed up any computer. Freeing your computer of these unnecessary items opens up storage for your important things and helps with overall performance. Remove junk files. You have several options, but one is to use a free system cleaner like CCleaner to erase unnecessary files in the Windows OS itself and third-party programs like your web browsers, which like to collect huge, safe-to-delete cache files. If these temporary internet files and other useless items stick around for too long, they can not only cause programs to hang and become unresponsive and sluggish but also take up valuable hard drive space. Remove unwanted programs that are just lingering on your computer. These are not only taking up hard drive space but they might open automatically with Windows and be running in the background all the time, sucking away at the processor and memory. Also considered junk files are anything you simply don't use or want anymore. So, delete those old video files that you downloaded a year ago and back up all the data you rarely access, like vacation pictures. Clean up your desktop if it's cluttered. Making File Explorer load those icons and folders each time the desktop refreshes can put unnecessary load on your hardware, which takes away systemThe Thing (Windows) - My Abandonware

Description Info All versions Reviews NotMyFault is a tool that can crash, hang, freeze or do any other number of bad things to a Windows computer. The tool uses a system driver (myfault.sys - named because the driver is the actual culprit for the crashes/hangs) to screw around in memory and do other bad things that you command it to. It is used by Windows Sysinternals as examples of the types of bugs and crashes a system administrator can expect to run into with Windows software. With NotMyuFault, you can cause the following terrible things..High IRQL Fault (Kernel-mode)Buffer overflowCode overwriteStack trashHigh-IRQL fault (user-mode)Stack overflowHardcoded breakpointDouble freeIt can also be used to cause the system to Hang (so you can practice debugging the problem) or cause a major memory leak. The download ZIP contains both the x86 and x64 versions of the tool.WARNING: This tool is not a joke. It is intended to be used for educational purposes only. It is used as an example tool with the book "Windows Internals." Using this tool, you will crash or otherwise harm your Windows session. For example, selecting "High IRQL fault" and clicking "Crash" will, definitely, cause an immediate BSOD crash and reboot of your system. Do not use this on a system you can't easily recover. Perhaps try it with a virtual machine that you have a snapshot of, and under the guidance of the book Windows Internals 7, or other examples released by Windows Sysinternals.Neither AfterDawn, or the tool's authors, accept any responsibility for your actions with this tool. These instructions may not be accurate in the future, so just know this was written on 05/19/2024.Rant you can skipWindows is largely an after thought for many programming languages now-a-days. That’s not a complaint, it’s just a fact. The inventors are under no obligation to support Windows and I respect that. So it has been getting harder and harder to experiment with some things, such as Lua on Windows. I don’t care what camp you reside in, I’ve talked about this before, where some people make their operating system their religion. So some people may just say something stupid like “Windows sucks that’s why, use Linux you Win-tard!”, but for the rest of us who use Windows on a daily for personal and work, it doesn’t suck and it still dominates 72% of the market. Microsoft and Windows, like the C programming language, are never going away – so for the haters out there grow up and stop giving people crap for using an OS where you don’t have to stop every five minutes to debug why something isn’t working. Before I dive into the instructions I need to point out a few things that I found to be important while diving into this adventure:There are too many conflicting and outdated instructions out there, which is irritating, which is why I am providing my own instructions because I think I am going to capture exactly what is needed to be done and not all of the things you can do. Either I am helping or adding to the problem 😝.Lua really isn’t designed for Windows, it’s designed for Linux and it shows. Luckily, we can still install it on Windows. If you don’t want to install it on Windows, your alternative method is to just use the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). 3900x mobo combo. But to pull that trigger will need some doing. My DDR3 memory is also useless. Eh you could try to reinstall windows, but hardware errors like that come from hardware reporting issues to the OS, and TBH other than viruses I've never heard of these things popping up randomly. Despite all the people that think they know better saying Windows is bad, its error reporting is very accurate, if hard to decipher. The main things that cause random hardware errors? Failing drives (you replaced it), failing memory (you replaced that too). I mean I'm sitting somewhere else in the world responding to you I don't want to insult your intelligence by telling you to test/replace the things that you've already done. There is no registry key, there is no magic check. If Windows is telling you your hardware is failing, and the antivirus software which is known to cure false errors of this type isn't finding it, logically at this point, the issue is true. As for what it is, since you're not seeing an immediate visible issue it may be in the drive controller or motherboard chipset. Like I said there is still a chance there is a failure in the CPU, but the possibility of that is really miniscule. If you want to see it crash I'd try running some heavy system benchmarks and drive benchmarks. I have no guarantees for you, it may not crash, and maybe the failure is minor and you can continue for a while.A 3900X is major overkill depending on your use, that said The performance difference is on another planet. But don't take my word for it you can buy an Intel 9900k as well and get similarly otherworldly performance, just in case you still think I'm on someones payroll. 😛 #14 Eh you could try to reinstall windows, but hardware errors like that come from hardware reporting issues to the OS, and TBH other than viruses I've never heard of these things popping up randomly.
