Have fun!The list of 60 Chinese idioms can be found on MOE website here. It's right at the end of the pdf file.Click her for answer.Welcome to Happy Cottage!I started 开心屋 - Happy Cottage because I have 凯 and 欣 in the house. Together they are the 开心 (sounds like) team.Mommy loves Chinese language and is a big fan of Chinese story books. Thus the kids often receive interesting children Chinese story books from mommy. Many of the children Chinese story books are so beautifully drawn and well written that I like to read them myself.Learning and loving the language is not an easy task in Singapore as our environment is not condusive enough for such learning. Thus I believe I have to create such an environment at home. Through daily communication in Mandarin and regular reading of the Chinese materials, I hope to cultivate their likings for the language. You can find many of the books in the Book Store.Besides introducing children Chinese story books to you, I would also like to share some learning resources and tips on the usage of the language here. I've met some parents, in their best attempt to communicate with their kids in Mandarin, misread some words or used an incorrect sentence structure. You can find the information in the tabs above. So, why is this blog written in English? I know of many parents who have kinda lost touch with the language. If I were to share in Chinese, then it may not be as effective.Do come back often for more updates.Cheers!

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. Her hair was as bright and shiny as the sun. One sunny day, while she was wandering in the forest, she got lost. Suddenly, she saw a strange cottage and knocked on the door. But guess what? No one answered! Curious goldilocks decided to take a peek inside. To her surprise, the cottage belonged to three bears – Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear. Goldilocks felt her tummy growling, so she sneaked a look at the table and found three bowls of porridge. Being a curious girl, she tasted a spoonful from Papa Bear’s huge bowl, but it was way too hot! Mama Bear’s medium bowl was also too hot for her liking. Then, she tried Baby Bear’s tiny bowl, and oh boy, it was just right! Goldilocks gobbled it all up.With a full tummy and mischievous spirit, Goldilocks spotted three chairs in the next room. She plunked herself onto Papa Bear’s enormous chair, but it was way too big for her tiny self. Mama Bear’s chair wasn’t very comfy either. Finally, she flopped onto Baby Bear’s itty-bitty chair, and you know what happened? Crash! It broke into pieces!Feeling a bit tired, Goldilocks went upstairs and discovered three beds. She hopped onto Papa Bear’s enormous bed, but it felt like sleeping on a rock! Mama Bear’s bed was too soft and squishy, making her sink. But then, she found Baby Bear’s cozy little bed, and guess what? It was just right! Goldilocks snuggled in and dozed off in no time.Meanwhile, the three bears came back home and surprised to find that the door is opened. They were puzzled to find their porridge bowls half-empty. “Someone has been munching our porridge!” grumbled Papa Bear. They noticed Baby Bear’s broken chair and became even more confused. They followed their growls upstairs and discovered Goldilocks snoozing in Baby Bear’s bed! Goldilocks woke up with a start when she saw the three bears. She jumped out of bed and raced through the forest as fast as her little legs could carry her. She didn’t stop until she reached her cozy home. From that day on, Goldilocks never went back to the bears’ cottage, but she always cherished the funny and exciting adventure she had with the three bears. And so, they all lived happily ever after, with Goldilocks learning to respect others’ things and not to wander off too far. The end, with a sprinkle of laughter! The EndMeet the Brilliant Mind Behind the Story! ????The original author of the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” is unknown. A triangular-shaped roof. In the same 6 over 6 category is The Folly, or Octagon House, at 527 First Avenue, as well as a small Greek Revival cottage at 16 E. Sixth Street. On Sixth Street, however, the builder wanted a fancier look for the front of the house, so he used floor-length windows with the same size panes, which then became 6 over 9. When Columbus's Greek Revival mansions such as the Lion House on Third Avenue and the Swift-Kyle at 303 12th Street were built in the 1850's, the ground-floor windows were 6 over 9. The progression continued. As technology permitted production of large panes of glass, people used them in their new homes. The Herin House at Broad and Sixth Street is an example of 4 over 4, as are many other houses in the Historic District which were built from the 1870's and 1890's.Another interesting thing happened. As families grew and expanded their houses, they built fancy new wings to the front, and left the original one and two room cottages on the back. One of the many examples of this is the two-story house at 637 First Avenue. The front two-story addition features 4 over 4 regular windows, while the fancy windows opening on to the front porch are full length and are actually 2 over 2 over 2. In back, the original one-story cottage retains its 9 over 9 windows. Really big sheets of glass were the thing at the turn of the century, as can be seen in the windows of various sizes in Jan Lauderdale's house at Broad, which was built in the late 1890's. Another example is the Lucius Morton House at 723 Broad, where the 1 over 1 pane reaches its greatest size. This one-upmanship continued through the 1910's.Later periods also reflect the same ability to date a house by the style of windows. However modest, houses were built to fit the climate of the region with the best available building materials. Eventually, however, air-conditioning eliminated the necessity for 12 foot high ceilings and double-hung windows. And the standard-size, mass. The best cottage farmhouse floor plans. 2025-04-12Are upset to learn that it’s closed on Wednesdays.”But no one believes the cultural divide will last, and that rapprochement will come sooner than later. “Our newcomers have an interest in keeping the historical character of the community,” says Sloan. “It’s part of what drew them here.” Moffatt agrees, “These are wonderful people moving into our community. They wouldn’t be here if they didn’t enjoy the same things generational cottagers do.” The solution, she says, is old-fashioned cottage hospitality: everyone needs to log off Facebook, meet their new neighbours, and get involved in the community. “Once people get to know each other, they’ll sort themselves out,” says Moffat. “We just have to get them out of their echo chambers and into council chambers.”This story originally appeared in our Mar/Apr ’23 issue.Philip Preville lives in Peterborough, Ont. 2025-04-07“Brought to you by TriAxis Films. This production is considered not suitable for younger viewers.”―TriAxisWysteria is a 2.0 Auto level created by TriAxis. The second in her film series, the level is a horror-themed short film with an extensive use of special effects via triggers introduced in Update 2.0. Wysteria is based on the real-life murder of Grace Budd by serial killer and cannibal Albert Fish, known as the Werewolf of Wysteria. The story of Grace Budd was that Albert Fish discovered her when he had plans of murdering her brother, Edward Budd. Fish made up a story about having to attend his niece's birthday party. He tricked Grace's parents into letting Grace accompany him to the "birthday party"; instead, Fish took her to an abandoned house known as "Wisteria Cottage", then murdered and ate her.Gameplay[]The level starts off with a simple horror styled introduction involving clocks and a music box-ticking in tune to the music, TriAxis revealed in the comments of her YouTube video that the symbolism to it refers to time, and more specifically the loss of time. The following sector shows the lyrics in words whilst accompanied by many individual artistic designs such as a swing set and picture of the character "Gracie", who is based off the real girl Grace Budd, who was murdered by Albert Fish, a 20th-century serial killer who raped, killed, then ate his victims at an abandoned house. The house was called "Wisteria Cottage", hence the level's name, "Wysteria". This continues to a forest setting which is presumably of the "Willows of Wysteria" as it is mentioned in the song. The forest symbolized being stuck. Following that is a continuation of the previous lyrics and art theme. Then, as the song calms, a piano is portrayed, and keys are pressed in tune to the
