The bottom of the window. Ensure that bandwidth limiting is not checked, and also that auto-update time is disabled as well. Resetting the application While resetting the application to default values within the settings is an option, we haven’t found any increase in download speeds to merit that action. Instead, opt for the tried-and-true tech technique of turning it off and on again. Once Battle.net is closed, verify it’s fully shut down within your Task Manager. Once verified that it has completely shut off, turn it back on and check to see if your download speeds have increased. Possible fixes outside of Battle.net The culprit of your slow Battle.net speeds could be local instead of on Battle.net. If prior troubleshooting hasn’t borne fruit, you may want to peek at your PC to ensure you aren’t accidentally choking your own download rates. Verify no other downloads are running Presuming that you have a solid grasp on your computer, checking to ensure that no background downloads are choking out your speeds should be relatively simple. Check Steam, Discord, and Chrome for the usual suspects in terms of eating through bandwidth. Windows Updates have also gotten more aggressive recently — disabling Windows Updates (and completing them manually) should suffice to ensure you aren’t being unintentionally throttled. Don’t attempt downloads during peak hours The final attempt prior to reaching out to Battle.net support staff is to ensure you aren’t trying to download during peak hours. When downloading any game or update through battle net, the download is throttled to bytes per second, which is unacceptable for games/patches of the modern era. Why has this not been fixed or even acknowledged by this point? I have seen many posts in that past about this same issue, but no comments or any future fix plans have been talked about. It is honestly infuriating as I have great internet and a drive that will download steam games in minutes rather than the hours/nights that it takes to download updates through blizzard. You likely have something blocking Bnet or throttling it. I get 30 Mb/sec when downloading updates or new installs. I would like to say that in these cases it varies heavily between an okay download speed of about 50 mbps for some of the download and then quickly dropping down to the kbps to bps speeds. Also this has been common with friends who live in the area as well, while other friends who live in different regions seem to not have as many issues. So it’s likely the ISP or a hop they use for routing. Which ISP is it? In this case I have multiple friends in the region with different ISP’s who have had the same problem. I have seen other posts on the forums complaining about slow download speeds which seems to be the same issue I have Some issues have been reported through the ISP, but one thing that hampers speeds is VPN’s. Turned off for downloads, release IP and reconnected, speeds back to normal. Through the namespace.Select any of the graphs to open a detailed view.Select Add Metric, and then select Throttled Requests from the dropdown, ensuring the aggregation is set to Sum.Remove all other metrics. If you don't see any throttled requests, that means you have enough TUs and partitions to handle the volume of data you're sending to InsightIDR. You can expect your connection between Azure and InsightIDR to function as expected. If you see throttled requests, complete these steps to determine the number of TUs and partitions required for your environment:Confirm that Azure is sending only data to InsightIDR that is relevant for security use cases:In InsightIDR, go to Log Search.Select the Unparsed Data log set, and review the logs that Azure sends. If Azure is sending data that likely isn't relevant for security use cases, consider turning off these logs in Azure to decrease the amount of data send through the event hub and namespace. To learn more, read Microsoft's documentation about resource logs: the amount of data flowing through your namespace and event hub:In the Azure portal, repeat steps 2-8.Change the metric to Incoming Bytes, and review the data.Change the metric to Incoming Messages, and review the data.Use the number of Incoming Bytes and Incoming Messages to determine how many TUs to allocate for your namespace:If the number of incoming bytes consistently exceeds the amount that your namespace can handle, increase the number of TUs to accomodate it. For example, if your namespace currently has 1 TU (which supports up to 1 MB/s), and the namespace consistently receives more than 2 MB/s, increase your namespace's TUs to 3, so that it can handle up to 3 MB/s.If the number of incoming messages (events per second) consistently exceeds the amount that your namespace can handle, increase the number of TUs to accomodate it. For example, if your namespace currently has 1 TU (which supports up to 1,000 events per second), and the namespace consistently receives more than 2,000 events per second, increase your namespace's TUs to 3, so that it can handle up to 3,000 events per second. If both the number of incoming bytes and incoming messages (events per second) consistently exceed the amount that your namespace can handle, increase the number of TUs based on the higher value.
