In addition, rTorrent is written in C++ and uses the ncurses library for terminal interactions, making it well-suited for servers or headless systems. It is also worth noting that ruTorrent uses rTorrent’s built-in XML-RPC server for communication.8.2 Is ruTorrent related to ruTracker?Because of naming conventions, some people think ruTorrent and ruTracker are the same. However, ruTracker is a famous Russian torrent tracker (torrent search indexer), while ruTorrent, is a torrent client and is not related to Russian trackers. 8.3 What is the recommended OS to install rTorrent and ruTorrent?Linux distributions are generally the best choices. Two reasons why rTorrent is preferred for seedboxes are because it has a GPL license and comes with either CLI or GUI (via ruTorrent). 8.5 Can ruTorrent be installed in Windows?ruTorrent is supported by OSX, Linux, BSD, and Solaris. Windows do not support it, but a workaround is to use Cygwin to install it.
