This app can't run on this PC (RivaTuner)
Smough 2017-03-13 22:16 Hello everyone, this is my first time on the forum, I dont know if this is the right place to ask this, but since is related to RivaTuner, I guess it is or maybe someone can help me.I use MSI Afterburner to measure performance in games + RTSS to stabilize the fps and get correct frame times, but I been having a problem that seems to be related to Windows 10. I really dont know. I will explain: Lets say I limit any game to 60 fps, 16.6 ms with RivaTuner, say, Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen. When I play the game, the frame time is fine, but not the frame rate, the frame rate decimal to be exact.I should be getting 59.9 fps to 60.0 fps, the problem is that RTSS at all games, creates some pretty horrible micro stutter since the frame rate goes 59.2, 59.5, 59.8, 59.7, 59.0, 59.6 and so on, randomly at what looks like, all games, some games present it more, others less, so no perfect frame time made by RTSS cant solve a frame decimals going up and down instead of staying at 60.0 and 59.9.At the moment, looks like Dxtory frame rate limiter looks like the best option, but does not give perfect frame time at all games or at least, I seem to think so.Any help?. If you have afterburner running you'll also have rivatuner running and userbenchmark does not like rivatuner. Try exiting afterburner and making sure rivatuner isn't running in your processes hmmm cant seem to get rivatuner app window msi must've integrated it into their app. either way browse to C: Program Files (x86) RivaTuner Statistics Server Profiles and edit config file hmmm cant seem to get rivatuner app window msi must've integrated it into their app. either way browse to C: Program Files (x86) RivaTuner Statistics Server Profiles and edit config file Afterburner. Back in its day, RivaTuner was the bee's knees, but most people have settled on MSI Afterburner by now. RivaTuner is still around—while the main RivaTuner software is unmaintained (although nothing technically stops you from using it), RivaTuner Statistics Server, a frame rate and hardware monitor tool that was originally a companion to the main RivaTuner tool, is still actively maintained, and even ships with the MSI Afterburner installer. How Do I Install MSI Afterburner? You can grab the latest version of MSI Afterburner from MSI's website. You don't need to look for any special versions or anything of the sort—just grab the installer and go to town. If you happen to need an older version of the program, you can grab older versions from FileHorse. From there, run the installer. It will ask you if you want to install MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner Statistics Server, or RTSS, which comes bundled with the installer. RTSS is actually not essential to the software's functionality, but it does allow you to show statistics and frame rates overlaid during games, which is a pretty cool functionality you have, especially if you're trying to document something. That's really up to you. Once you've selected them, just run the installer, go through the rest of the instructions, and wait until it's finished. Congrats! You've now installed MSI Afterburner on your computer. How Do I Use MSI Afterburner? MSI Afterburner can do a lot of stuff. Here are some of the things you can do with it, and how you can do them. When first opening the program, you'll be greeted by a UI that kinda looks like a car dashboard. It has a heavy theme on top of it, which sort of reminds me of the kinds of themes Windows 98-era Windows Media PlayerComments

2025-04-13You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. Jan 27, 2006 37,035 12 89,965 #1 I've tried to run 3DMark05 on my system, but it seems to hang every time. There is no error message or BSOD, but I think I've waited at least half an hour for results and got nothing. Task Manager shows 49%-51% fluctuating load, spread evenly on both cores of my e6750. The mouse cursor turns into an hourglass when on the 3DMark splashscreen.Am I just being impatient? System is as described in my profile: GA-G33M-DS2R with e6750, 2GB of RAM, 2xSATA drives. The system is stable with its mild overclock to 400FSB/7x to get 1:1 RAM. I can play Guild Wars all day and have no stability issues. One thing that just occurred to me; I read in another thread something about 3DMark and Rivatuner. Do I need to exit Rivatuner and/or uninstall it before running 3DMark? I'll try that when I get home tonight, but if you know the answer, please pass it on. Thanks. Other resident software includes McAfee and Logitech G5/G11 drivers, but no "Desktop Communications" or other pooh-ware. #2 Rivatuner does not interfere with anything ever produced by FutureMark. Try disabling McAfee's real time protection scanner for a change. Jan 27, 2006 37,035 12 89,965 Jan 27, 2006 37,035 12 89,965 #4 Nope. Didn't work. I turned off McAfee, exited Rivatuner, reset BIOS to defaults,
2025-04-15Free and open source software for live streaming and screen recording - obsproject/obs-studio obsproject.com #9 This also affected me on the most recent OBS build. The log file would constantly produce "Trying to hook...failed" logs when using game capture. Window/Display not using any sort of hook would work fine. The only fix I found was to downgrade to a previous working version (for me that was 25.0.4) and now game capture hooks fine.I have no idea the reason and don't have the log files anymore as I must of deleted them accidently when removing the new build and installing the older build. #10 This also affected me on the most recent OBS build. The better solution is to fix the problem that was created while allowing everyone to continue to use their PC the way they have for as long as they have. There was never a conflict with MSI until this recent update. The people in this thread didn't seem to have an issue before, and I never had in the 6+ years i've used OBS. Atleast for me, when i've used something for that long and suddenly there is a conflict after one of them updated, it's the fault of the one that updated and introduced the conflict. #14 The better solution is to not have software installed that conflicts like afterburner or rivatuner. Downgrading leads to other problems. True, if we erase humanity, none of the problems above will ever be raised, so why wouldn't we start eating our babies now?
2025-03-30On my wife's machine, and the GPU Monitor gadget works perfectly fine with Windows XP Media Center SP3, RivaTuner 2.23 and a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS with 180.48 drivers. Here is what you need to do to get it running:Install 7zipExtract and install Alky for Applications 1.1Log out and back inExtract and install the Windows Sidebar by right clicking the sidebar.inf file and selecting installRebootInstall RivaTuner if it is not currently installedInstall the GPU Monitor gadgetAdd the gadget to the sidebarConfigure RivaTuner's hardware monitoring as specified on the help tab of the gadget configThere is additional information in the "C:\Program Files\Alky for Applications\Documentation\manual.pdf" file (including other pre-requisites).If it works for you, great! If it doesn't, please do not send support requests to me. I am not supporting this type of configuration.- Nick Last edited by a moderator: Feb 18, 2009 Hi!First, nice work there, keep it up! Next, small feature request - my card has 2 gpu's, so it would be nice to display them both using bars, or a way to merge them in a single value and then display it.And one offtopic - is there a way to integrate hwmonitor with rivatuner or other way around? It bugs me to run 4 programs to monitor gpu&cp&mb ...H. Hello hiborg,I've already started development on the next version. It will let you customize almost everything. You'll be able to decide on a parameter by parameter basis how you want to display it. Until then, it is not possible to add a 2nd bar for the 2nd GPU temp. However, if you don't want your fan data to display in the bar, you could specify your 2nd GPU temp for now. The title, icon and units will be wrong, but the bar should be right. Just change the bar limits to match the first bar (20,70,75,80,90).This gadget reads all data available in RivaTuner's hardware monitor. So anything you add there can be displayed in the gadget. For CPU data, you can use RealTemp plugin for RivaTuner. Its simple to do, just extract the files as mentioned in the instructions. Then in RivaTuner's
