The processor should be coping just fine. It's certainly a lot more capable then my older Intel CPU which is three generations behind your own.It has the same boost clock speed as my own (4.7GHz) and same amount of threads (16) from more cores (10) than my own CPU which only has 8 cores. The RealTek chip though is obviously different and may be the problem as Greg pointed out and the last driver update for mine was in 2022, version 6.0.9569.1. Windows does not pick up on RealTek drivers and you may have to check the RealTek site for yourself to see if there is an update. Personally Mixcraft has had the lowest latency of any daw I have used when using the RealTek audio chip and typically with other daws has not been stable with latency below 17 ms. Even 10ms is pushing it with Mixcraft. It's only with using ASIO drivers with a dedicated sound device have I ever seen 0 latency. One thing you have that I do not is wireless Bluetooth audio. That would cause additional delay if you are using

On.Allow desktop apps to access your microphone is set to on.Mixcraft should be seen in the list of applications that have access. Windows privacy sound setting 1.jpgStereo Mix can then still be selected in the Mixcraft mixer after those settings are made and not cause a feedback loop when selected and armed. Windows privacy sound setting 2.jpgIf you are worried that having the microphone active on your system may allow Microsoft to listen in you can turn their apps off from listening just under the other Windows microphone settings.Windows privacy sound setting 3.jpgDespite common belief, ReakTek audio chips have come a long way in the past ten years and depending on the motherboard the supporting analog section of the hardware can have high grade capacitors and resistors installed and internally signal to noise ratios can be extremely low. Below the threshold of of hearing. (over 130db of headroom). Where the internal sound device is more limited is in terms of MIDI timing which can be poorer than a dedicated sound card and not really having access to a dedicated ASIO driver as ASIO4all is not the best crafted ASIO driver in the world that would allow for lower latency settings. I would not recommend setting lower than 10ms of latency using a RealTek chip. I have all the sound settings I recommended set myself, and run over 67 tracks of audio with nine vst effects running the project at 10 ms in Mixcraft with no problems and my system is

Wireless headphones or speakers. audio Windows.jpg (175.15 KiB) Viewed 1598 times Changing the bpm of a project should not have any effect at all. Only increases in buffer numbers and sampling rates have an effect on latency as more audio data gets loaded ahead of playback in larger blocks. Lowering those blocks / samples is what can cause dropouts or glitches in the audio stream if made too small. Some programs do also require Net Framework 3.5, 4,8 and 4.8.1 to work successfully and are not always automatically downloaded by Windows update. Various programs come with NET Framework and has been reinstalled on my system many times as a different cumulative update. cumulative updates for NET Framework.jpg (241.72 KiB) Viewed 1598 times I do not know if Mixcraft also needs NET Framework but my video editing software does. Perhaps Greg can verify this requirement if you don't already have it on your system. I have checked the RealTek website for new drivers and one was released in August this year. I didn't have it either as Windows updates do not check for RealTek audio drivers. This is the newest driver update I have seen since 2022 and I am downloading it now. Not that I seem to need it but it seldom hurts to keep things up to date. But it could be in this instance that Greg is correct and you will need an additional external audio interface with a decent ASIO driver to get your latency down to
