You just won't have access to Sonars soft synths. You can also try ASIO4all which a few people claim is a good driver for generic work. sloanelliot Max Output Level: -90 dBFS Total Posts : 4 Joined: 2013/01/08 18:52:31 Status: offline Re:Audio Popping/Crackling. 2013/01/13 17:16:26 (permalink) Done. 2025-04-19Forum Video Video Conversion Is there nero AAC codec for VirtualDub? Thread--> Member I would like nero AAC codec for VirtualDub, but I don't know exactly what is it there?Look at the attachment below, there is no AAC ACM Codec in the Select box, so I need it to be easy for me converting AAC audio like MP3 Lame.I try download fccHandler AAC ACM Codec, but this codec can only decode AAC, it does not work for encoding.Could anyone help with this to support..? Thanks in advance! Attached Thumbnails --> Last edited by Leo99; 21st Aug 2013 at 13:06. Leo99 Member You need to use the external encoder feature in Virtualdub 1.10.0 and later to use the Neroaacenc.exe. If you are using aac then I assume you want to create x264 mp4. Here are the encoders that you would use to create an x264/aac.mp4...Encoder Set MP4_MVideo Encoder: 264 MAudio Encoder: NeroaacMultiplexor: MP4BoxFile description: mp4File extension: mp4 Type: Video EncoderProgram: C:\Tools\x264.exe (or the path to your exe file)Command Arguements: --crf 18 --preset medium --tune film --demuxer raw --input-csp i420 --input-res %(width)x%(height) --fps %(fpsnum)/%(fpsden) -o "%(tempvideofile)" -Output Filename: %(outputname).264(place a check mark in first three boxes)Type: Audio EncoderProgram: C:\Tools\neroAacEnc.exe (or the path to your exe file)Command Arguements: -q 0.50 -ignorelength -if - -of "%(tempaudiofile)"Output Filename: %(outputname).aac(place a check mark in first three boxes and under Audio tab, check Wav file and Bypass compression)Type: MultiplexorProgram: C:\Tools\MP4Box\MP4Box.exe (or the path to your exe file)Command Arguements: -add "%(tempvideofile)" -add "%(tempaudiofile)" "%(outputname)" -fps %(fps)(check all four boxes)...or you could download the text file in this thread and change the extension to vdprf and load that in the external encoder. Member I have posted a VDPROF file on Budmansite.com that is set up for MP4 (single and dual pass), Mpeg2, and FLV (AVC/AAC) that you can import into VirtualDub (1.10.xx +). You WILL, as DarrellS has pointed out, have to change the Program line in each Audio, Video and Multiplexor line to the correct location of the YOUR External Encoders since mine will not be the same path as yours. Program: C:\Tools\x264.exe (or the path to your
2025-04-22No avail; many of which I'd already mentioned trying before in my original post. It was not a cable issue (which is always the number one place to start troubleshooting) because it was doing the same thing with the built-in microphone, as well as several others, all just going through the mic input on the laptop (and also with headphones, monitors, and the laptop speakers). There's absolutely no reason why a piece of software like this shouldn't be able to handle basic line/mic audio input without an audio interface, it just wouldn't make any sense. That's just poor design. Thankfully, I was able to find a solution, and it was painfully simple, so here's to hoping the hundreds of others out there having the same problem without an answer will stumble upon this: I set the driver mode to MME (32-bit) and it works like a charm, no popping whatsoever. I'm not sure I understand just *why* this was what finally did it, but hey... It works! No complaints here. :) I'm hardly new to this universe (haha not that I should have to qualify myself), and as I'd said before, was trying to simply come up with a quick and dirty solution that would allow me to open my laptop, any time, any place, and "roll tape" so to speak, and do so immediately ... but also with the ability to seamlessly drop these stacked/edited scratch tracks (as well as any manually entered MIDI melody parts, etc., which is what I love so much about this software) into my ProTools rig later with zero hassle. No power source needed, no extra cables, etc.. This program is the perfect middle ground and blows away any of the junk freeware like Audacity, etc. for this purpose. I didn't realize I was on the wrong forum, I was in a hurry to find a solution!
