I wasn’t a fan of Pees’ defense when he was the DC here. I was HUGE fan of Chuck Pagano when he was the DC here. I’m curious to see whether this was a suggestion from Orr that Harbaugh thought was a great idea, or a Harbaugh idea. Either way, it feels like the right move. Pagano’s defense was more flexible and he could provide great perspective for Orr with the defense Orr seems to want to run. It's not really uncommon for former coordinators especially ones that are older regardless of how successful they were calling plays being position coaches to younger coordinators. Both Pagano and Pees are older coaches that were considered to be retired . At this point in their life's they probably don't want to deal with the stress when it comes to calling plays and being the boss of their staff.
