Excel MergeMerges two or more Excel files into one file, while keeping formatting, formulas, VBA code andconditional styling intact. This software works with Excel 2007 (.xlsx and .xlsm) files and canonly generate Excel 2007 files as output. The older .xls format is unfortunately not supported, but you can work around that if necessary. This is a software library that is designed to be used as part of a larger piece of software. Itcannot be used as standalone software by itself.InstallationWith composerphp composer.phar require infostreams/excel-mergeUseThe most basic use of this software looks something like thisdownload("my-filename.xlsm"); // or $filename = $merged->save("my-directory/my-filename.xlsm");?>">download("my-filename.xlsm"); // or $filename = $merged->save("my-directory/my-filename.xlsm");?>Raison d'être and use caseThis library exists for one reason only: to work around the humongous memory requirements of theotherwise excellent PHPExcel library. I had to exportthe contents of a database as an Excel file with about 10 worksheets, some of them relativelylarge, and PHPExcel very quickly ran out of memory after producing about 2 or 3 of the requiredworksheets, even after increasing the PHP memory limit to 256 and then 512 Mb. I was not doinganything spectacular and am certainlynot the only oneto have run into this issue. At this point I could have chosen a different Excel library to generate the export, andI did, but these would not allow me to use VBA codein my exported file, and would not recognize some of the Excel formulas I needed. 16:08 Re: Excel 2019 / Connect to PostgreSQL Post by JimmyC » 04 Aug 2021, 15:28 Hans, thanks for the reply. I downloaded and installed v4.1.8 but I get the same message. Do you know if the MSI installs the correct bit version based on the bit installation for Excel (i.e., my office (Excel) was installed as 64 bit)? In the commentary, it makes mention to install the "correct bit version" but I was not asked about the Excel bit installed on my PC when I installed the MSI. Perhaps, it "knows" that I have the 64 bit version of Excel? Thanks for your patience as I am truly in over my head. September 11, 2018 Hi fellow Excel Addict, I know it's been a while since you've heard from me but after being on vacation for three weeks, I came home to a whole lot of work that needed to be done on my website and newsletter. I'll spare you all the details but let's just say that some changes that Google made in July, just before I went on vacation, caused me a whole lot of website problems. You may have noticed recently that the images in my past newsletters and on my website are not all displaying and many of the links are not working. That is mostly my own fault because of the way I originally set up my website but I am working on it now to make the corrections. I apologize for the delay. All of the images for my new newsletters from this point forward should work fine but it will take some time to make the changes on the old stuff. If you really need to access a past newsletter or tip on my website that isn't working properly, let me know and I will add it to my priority list of things to fix. I ask for your patience over the next few weeks as I remedy my website problems. Today's 'Excel in Seconds' tip concerns an issue that has been annoying Excel users for several years BUT NOT ME. Read on to find out why. If you find this tip helpful, I hope you'll share it with others who may also benefit from it. Annoyed By Those White Quick Access Toolbar Icons In Excel 2016/365? If you are using Excel 2016/365 you have probably noticed that the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) displays all of its icons in one boring color — white. Many Excel users are annoyed at the white icons on the QAT because, in addition to looking terrible, it often requires an extra second to be sure which tool you need to click on, since some of them look very similar. People have been lobbying Microsoft to fix this ever since Excel 2016 came out but apparently Microsoft doesn't think it's important. Well, I have never complained about the white icons on the QAT. That's because the icons on my Excel 2016 QAT
