However with iTunes 7 you can have the iTunes folder which contains the library files and the iTunes Music folder on another drive. Moving iTunes folder (instructions courtesy of Chris CA): 1 Quit iTunes. 2 Copy the entire iTunes folder including music to the other drive. 3 Restart iTunes holding (Shift-Windows, Option-Mac). 4 Select Choose library. Select the library in the folder you just moved. 5 Move the old iTunes folder to the trash but do not empty it. 6 Restart iTunes normally and verify the songs work. If they do, empty the trash. Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I have a PC running Windows 11. When I first moved my Itunes library to the PC it ended up being stored in onedrive. I hate onedrive. Somehow in moving the library out of onedrive to my normal file system, the library organization including all playlists were destroyed. I still have all the music files but I need to rebuild the library. I can't figure out how to do that. Help would be GREATLY appreciated. Windows, Windows 10 Posted on Dec 28, 2023 10:35 AM Similar questions Missing playlists after uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 12 I uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes 12 after encountering periodic crashing of ITunes after the latest Windows 11 update. ITunes is downloaded from Microsoft store. After reinstalling it, my old library is missing, and I can’t find it in either the external drive or the C drive where Apple automatically points to. Due to the library size, I have to store it on an external drive. I know how to restore the library, and it does take a long time to do. I don’t want to have to restore the library without having the original playlists. There is no folder for previous ITunes libraries on my machine, and I would rather not have to redo all the work. I have transferred the library from my old machine and it took a long time to do it. I am in the middle of going through all my CDs and restoring missing tracks from previous drive crashes. I am currently running a program to find deleted files on the external drive where I store the music. 581 6 Lost iTunes Plays totals and playlists after Windows reset I transferred my iTunes library to a new laptop succesfully a week or so ago, but a problem with another program required me to reset Windows 11. When I opened a newly downloaded iTunes version, I got a message about the itl file having been created on a newer version of iTunes and couldn't get into the program. I did a search for solutions and followed some instructions about renaming the itl as dot-old and then using a Previous iTunes Libraries file. That got me into iTunes, and I immediately was notified of a newer version available, which I downloaded. I wasn't seeing my library and tried the Add Folder to Library option, selecting my iTunes folder. That allowed the tracks and album names to show up in the Songs folder, but my playlists and the Plays totals are gone. Any help would be appreciated. 523 1 How can I move my iTunes library to another drive I have tried to move my iTunes library to another drive on the same PC by going to edit, preferences, advanced, iTunes media folder location, change but the folder location always reverts to C:\Users\myname\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media.
