I'm not clear on what you're asking. You'd just take your existing Honda cable out, cut it and solder it to a regular USB connector so it can plug into your aftermarket headunit, and then when you go to sell the car, you'd put the spare Honda USB cable into the car and hook it to your reinstalled factory headunit.FWIW, here are some pictures of the Honda cable that goes from the headunit to the front port: Joined Mar 27, 2017 Threads 41 Messages 276 Reaction score 37 Location SW USA Vehicle(s) 2021 EX Hatch #11 I'm not clear on what you're asking. That makes more sense #13 Success! I ended up ordering the PAC Audio USB-TY1 on amazon after I posted the other night and just installed it over lunch as soon as it got here. The oem plug clicks right in and the usb-a end fits snuggly in my 4200nex. I was worried about Android Auto over USB-C since that can be finicky with certain cables, but am happy. Retain OEM USB with Factory Radio? Thread starter Space Lord Start date May 23, 2017 Watchers 11 Thread starter #1 So I installed a Pioneer 4200NEX this weekend and everything works great, radio, steering wheel controls, backup camera, microbypass. However the only thing that wasn't retained by the kit was the factory USB. Does anyone know if this is possible? I have an LX so I only have the one under the radio but I might consider adding one to the center console if the original can't be retained. Thanks for the help! #2 No luck on that one for me. I just ran the cable through one of the little openings under the radio where I could still plug my phone into it. Thread starter #3 Damn. That's what I did too but I was hoping someone figured something out. I saw some adapters for Toyotas I wonder if those would work. #4 USB is only four wires + ground sheath. I repair phone cables all the time. #5 Damn. That's what I did too but I was hoping someone figured something out. I saw some adapters for Toyotas I wonder if those would work. I hope this works! Your post got me looking and it seems like Honda used the same JAE MX49 connector (pdf) that Toyota uses. We might be able to use Metra AX-TOYUSB or PAC Audio USB-TY1 to retain the stock USB. Thread starter #9 I bought the Metra AX-TOYUSB on ebay for $7 with shipping so I thought why not hopefully I can get it on Friday and I'll let yall know what happens. The USB cord is only about
