Windows Fax and Scan and click on answer and that seems to work. But apparently the above churn has changed the registry and now Idon't get the notification balloon. I would like to get the balloonnotification without the bell ringing and then be able to click onthe balloon to "answer as a FAX". I've Googled until my head isswimming and didn't find anything. I know on my old XP computer Iwas able to fix this same problem by changing the Registry. Is thereway to do this in W7? I don't like playing with registry entries, but I have done it in the past. Thanks. After all that mucking around, I don't know if this will still work, butyou can enable, disable, or change the fax notification sound withnormal Windows configuration settings. Sending a fax from your iPad might sound like a thing of the past, but it’s still a necessary task for many businesses and individuals. With the right app, you can easily send faxes from anywhere, at any time. Here’s a quick overview: first, download a fax app from the App Store, then scan or import the document you want to fax, enter the recipient’s fax number, and hit send. It’s that simple!Step by Step Tutorial on How to Fax from the iPadBefore we dive into the steps, let’s understand what we’re accomplishing. Faxing from an iPad means you can send documents just like you would from a traditional fax machine, but without the need for the actual hardware. In the following steps, you’ll learn how to do this using a third-party app.Step 1: Choose a Fax App from the App StoreChoose a reliable fax app from the App Store that meets your needs. There are many fax apps available, so be sure to read reviews and compare features. Look for an app that allows you to send faxes internationally if needed, and check if there’s a cost per fax or a subscription service.Step 2: Install the Fax AppDownload and install the chosen fax app onto your iPad.Once you’ve selected your app, simply tap ‘Get’ or the download button, and the app will install on your iPad. You may need to enter your Apple ID password or use Touch ID to complete the installation.Step 3: Prepare your DocumentGet your document ready to fax by scanning it or importing it into the app.You can either scan a physical document using your iPad’s camera or import a document from your photo library, email, or cloud storage service. Make sure the document’s text is clear and legible.Step 4: Enter the Recipient’s Fax NumberInput the fax number of the person or business you’re sending the document to.Double-check the recipient’s fax number for accuracy before sending. If it’s an international number, make sure to include the country code.Step 5: Send the FaxHit the send button, and the app will transmit your document as a fax. After you press send, the app will do the rest. You’ll typically get a confirmation that the fax was sent successfully, and some apps even provide a delivery receipt. After completing these steps, your document will be faxed to the recipient just as if you had sent it from a physical fax machine.. You can tell it's a fax -in other words, you don't have any other real telephones on that line?If so, you could always connect one (there's probably another socket onthe back of the MoDem for the purpose) - after all, it's always usefulto be able to tell someone they're trying to call on a fax number, ifthey do by mistake. No, I don't think you got what I was after. When I 1st installed themodem, W7 put in its driver. Then when any call came into the line, theballoon on the lower right hand of the screen would pop giving thecaller ID and the statement, "click to answer as a Fax". It would alsoplay a wav file of a, now old fashioned, telephone bell. I want theballoon; I don't really want the ringing sound. Dave"Crash"Dummyshowed a method that will get rid of the sound. My real phone willring. It is a cordless and it is on a UPS. It will ring after the 1string is received and caller ID info is read (on the 2nd ring). I dothis as the phone has the ability, like some/most cell phones, to playcustom ring tones depending on the caller. Even without the balloonnotification, I can, in Windows Scan & Fax, click on "Answer Now" andthe Fax would be answered. But the balloon was very convenient. BTW,this happened in my old XP computer and I was able to make a minorregistry change and the balloons returned. I will probably trySC Tom's idea, however, I've done most of this already, with no joy. Ihaven't actually physically pulled the modem card.
