Google Chrome is not just the world’s most popular browser but also one of the most versatile — as this tip on how to save tabs in Chrome shows. If you use Chrome for work, study, or research you may end up with lots of tabs open that you don’t want to lose, but which you don’t need open. Using Chrome you can save all tabs as a bookmark you can open again at a later date.Better yet, the option to save tabs is built-in so no extra extensions or cloud service sign-ups are required. To save all open tabs in Google Chrome on Windows, macOS, Linux or a Chromebook use the Settings > Bookmarks > Bookmark All Tabs option:This will prompt you to enter a name for the folder of bookmarks (i.e. your saved tabs). Pick something memorable or descriptive here so that you know what the collection of sites are when you go need to find it at a later date You can easily open saved tabs againIt’s just as easy to open all of the tabs you saved previously, even if you close the browser or come back at a later date. Once saved head to Settings > Bookmarks and find the folder you saved in the previous step. This will let you open each site individually.Alternatively, if you saved your tabs to a folder on the bookmarks bar — by default it saves them here — you access them directly from a new tab:You can right-click on the bookmarks bar saved tabs folder to instantly open all bookmarks inside the folder in the current window, a new window, or a new incognito window:The downside to using the built-in option is that it’s pretty frill-free; there are no advanced features, like being able to copy all of the links in bulk to paste as a citation in an essay or research note somewhere else.So if you do need advanced tab saving features, such as being able to export saved tabs as a list for use elsewhere, there are a couple of Chrome extensions on the Chrome Web Store that allow you to do this (and more). My top pick is Tabs Saver: Install the ‘Tabs Saver’ Extension for Chrome Try it out and let me know what you think of it below!

As a companion device, not a daily driver. It can get work done if the family computer is in use, but it's more at home lounging on the couch, flicking through Twitter feeds and tapping away at Freecell.I've been using the Duet full-time since it arrived over a week ago, and 98% of the time, it works exactly as it should: it cruises along even with my usual 7-10 tabs open in Chrome, plus 1-3 Android apps in the background. It might hang during the initial load of some viral post on Reddit with thousands of replies, and it might miss a tap when I'm scrolling through a fanfic (seriously, the Duet is such a wonderful e-reader), but otherwise, it's normally just fine. It crashed once in a Google Meet call and twice when loading a plethora of new research tabs at once, but Google Meet has crashed my Pixelbook before, so I'm not worried about long-term performance. You'd think split-screening on a 10.1-inch screen would be cramped — and depending on the site, things can still be squished — but I've been able to work on a Duet just as well as any other Chromebook to cross my desk in the last two years. It's not a powerhouse, but it's enough for working all day and playing around at night while you wind down, which is all I really need out of the Duet.Source: Ara Wagoner / Android Central (Image credit: Source: Ara Wagoner / Android Central)The Duet was also the first to get the new tab strip for Chrome Browser in tab mode. This will come to all Chromebooks over time, and while it's a slight adjustment, I'll confess I'm a big fan of it — especially the way that pinned tabs become these small squares that are just. Creating pivot tables in Excel can be a game-changer for anyone dealing with large datasets. They help you see trends and patterns by summarizing and analyzing your data effortlessly. But what if your data is spread across multiple tabs? Is it still possible to create a pivot table? Absolutely! While it might seem a bit tricky at first, with the right steps, you'll find it's not as complicated as it sounds. In this article, we'll walk you through the process of pulling data from multiple tabs into a single pivot table. We'll break down the steps, offer practical tips, and even share a few relatable examples to help you along the way. Whether you're a seasoned Excel user or someone just starting out, we've got you covered.Understanding the Basics of Pivot TablesBefore we jump into the how-to, let's take a moment to understand what pivot tables are all about. Imagine you've got a massive spreadsheet filled with sales data. You want to know the total sales per region, per product, and per month. Going through each row manually would take forever! This is where pivot tables come in.Pivot tables allow you to summarize and analyze your data quickly. You can rearrange your data, sort it, filter it, and even perform calculations like averages and sums. It's like having a magic wand that transforms a chaotic mess into a clear story. Summarize data: Display totals, averages, counts, and more. Analyze trends: Compare data across different categories. Filter information: Focus on the data that matters most to you.Knowing how pivot tables work will give you confidence as you tackle data from multiple tabs. Once you get the hang of it, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them!Preparing Your Data for a Pivot TableBefore you create a pivot table, you need to ensure your data is ready for the task. Think of it like prepping ingredients before cooking a meal—you’ll want everything cleaned and chopped before you start.Consistent Structure Across TabsWhen dealing with data from multiple tabs, consistency is key. Make sure that each tab has the same column headers. If one tab has a header called "Sales" and another has "Total Sales," you'll need to standardize them.Inconsistent headers can confuse Excel and make the pivot table creation process cumbersome. So, take a quick tour of your tabs and ensure everything is named consistently.Data Ranges and Named RangesExcel loves named ranges, and so should you. By giving your data a name, you make it easy for Excel to find and use your data. To create a named range: Select the range of data you want to name. Go to the "Formulas" tab on the ribbon. Click on "Define Name" and enter a name

As a writer of a certain age, I’ve lived a lot of life in Google Docs. It’s where my first drafts go, but it’s also where my crazy ideas, unhinged brainstorming, and research dumps go.There’s so many conveniences about Google Docs that make it my go-to for word processing, but let’s be honest: It’s still fairly barebones, especially when it comes to organizing and managing different files within Google Drive. But this new feature makes all of that much easier, keeping it all contained all within Docs itself. It’s called Document Tabs, which you may have already noticed floating just to the left of your document.GoogleThe idea is simple: It lets you create multiple documents within a single Docs file. Create as many “tabs” or separate documents as a single project might need, and switch between them extremely fast. That accessibility to them is really where the gold is. No more switching between different browser tabs. It’s even more handy on mobile, of course, where switching applications or tabs is even more cumbersome. Here, you’ll find Document Tabs hovering just at the bottom of the screen with some simple arrows to flip between your different tabs. All we need now is a simple gesture to be added to flip between them even more seamlessly.Document Tabs takes the place of the old outlining system, which would grab headers and automatically create a table of contents around them. I used this frequently, but it was pretty finicky. More than that, it resulted in overly long documents that I still found myself scrolling through.Document Tabs is a really elegant solution to that problem. Whether it’s segmenting chapters in a book, multiple aspects of a project, or even just different parts of an article, it’s already become an extremely useful outlining and productivity tool for me.It even had a pretty clean way of converting the tabs when you need to export. All the tabs do is combine down into one document, but they’re sectioned off with titles and some basic formatting. That’s not going to be ideal in every situation, of course, so it’s something to

Safari tabs reappearing after closing and then disappearing when left open The tabs in safari on my iPhone initially were reappearing after I had closed them. This went on for a few weeks. It was annoying, but I just kept closing them until they finally didn’t come back again. But then yesterday, my tabs began disappearing when I had left them open. Yes, it's on my Mac that I have this issue. Can you please clarify by what you mean that if I'm on Facebook webpages, "then the icon for the website is going to show on every tab that's normal." Do you mean if I have one webpage up that is Facebook, but have other tabs open that are non Facebook pages those non Facebook tabs (websites) will also show a Facebook icon on the tabs even though they are not Facebook websites??Here's what I've run into for example: I will have looked at Facebook, then use that same tab to enter a new web address like Youtube. So I now have only 1 tab open and it is on Youtube. The Facebook icon still shows on the tab instead of a Youtube icon, even though I no longer have a Facebook website up. Then I make a new tab for example, my local electricity webpage. This new tab I have also shows a Facebook icon. So all three tabs that are open show a Facebook icon on the tab, even though none of the tabs open are a Facebook webpage. The icons show on the tab at the top, on the left of it's description ie: Youtube. I will try clearing my history but cannot at this time.. Chords and tabs, covering a variety of genres. Learn how to set Safari to automatically close open tabs after a day, week, or month on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac so that your web browser is not unnecessarily burdened with old, useless tabs.Several open tabs can slow down Safari and eat up precious system resources. The issue is exacerbated if you set Safari to open all links in new tabs, leaving you with a bunch of tabs that you probably don’t even know are open.In order to prevent that from happening, many people manually close their open tabs, but the problem is you have to remember to do that in the first place. Thankfully, Safari has the ability to automatically close all open tabs after a specific period of time, and this tutorial shows you how to do that.On iPhone and iPad1) Open the Settings app.2) Choose Safari from the main list.3) Tap Close Tabs underneath the Tabs heading.4) Choose how you want Safari to automatically close tabs:Manually: Safari won’t automatically close tabs. After One Day: All open tabs will be cleared after 24 hours. After One Week: All open tabs will be cleared after a week. After One Month: All open tabs will be cleared after a month. On Mac1) Open Safari on macOS Sonoma or later.2) From the top menu bar, click Safari > Settings.3) Go to the Tabs section.4) Click the drop-down menu next to ‘Automatically close tabs‘ and choose After one day, After one week, or After one month.Whenever I visit my parents and use their iPad, I’m totally flabbergasted by the sheer amount of open tabs they have in Safari without them even realizing it. Try as I might, my Mom just couldn’t be bothered to grasp the concept of tabbed browsing. Me being nit-picky, I couldn’t stand the sight of dozens upon dozens of open tabs, so what I’d do is close them manually in order to make Safari more responsive and easier to navigate. With this handy setting, I’ll just set her device to auto-close all open tabs each and every day—it’s one less thing to worry about!Useful Safari tips:How to use Safari tab groups on iPhone, iPad, and MacHow to pin tabs in Safari on iPhone, iPad, and MacHow to save all open Safari tabs as bookmarks on iPhone and iPad
