Introducing EQ2 LaunchPad 4Replaces All Other EQ2 Launchers

Hey there, looks like you're using an outdated browser. Functions and graphics of this forum may not work correctly, so please update to the most current! I've done everything I can think of but the game keeps crashing! I've uninstalled it, re-installed it, I made sure everything that had EQ2 or DBG was deleted and still it crashes after only a matter of minutes(or less) of getting into the game. Everything was working just fine until Monday's server maintenance. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. This is the error I received when it crashed a few minutes ago............. G:\live\eq2\framework\render\DDSTexture.cpp (235):!"Unknown DDS texture flags"00ced6ce 00cec4c4 Please someone help me! Or am I doomed to not be able to play EQ2? Okay, submitted a support ticket. Hopefully I can get some help resolving this issue! DirectX 9 installed? I think it's 9 , but you need a specific OLD one, not the latest. I've looked for DX 9 but haven't been able to find it. Found it but can't install it because I get message saying it won't install as a newer version is installed. Support gave me things to do to get the game to work but none of their suggestions resolved the issue. I guess I'm just not going to be able to play the game. That is unless I can find a a way to resolve the problem myself. - DirectX®: 9.0c [Required - download & install into your Everquest II folder. It will work with the current version of DirectX also installed.] I found an old thread and it gave dx9 files needed for EQ2 to work properly. I put those in the EQ2 and I'm going to check and see if the game continues to crash. It worked! The game is no longer crashing! The only problem I had is when I used the bell to travel to the peat bog it sent me to the character selection and I had to logout and start again. Otherwise everything seems good now. WOO HOO!!! Question Will EQ2 work with this laptop?

The 418 VPK files contain a total of around 190,000 files of all kinds; basically the whole set of assets EQ2 uses. They are in a variety of formats, but sounds in particular are in WAV format, while the voiceover files come in MP3 format.VOC files, of which there are around 20,000, are actually data which describe a composition of simpler assets that together form a complex entity. The definition is quite vague, but that's because they're used for pretty much everything: zone rooms, game objects, characters, monsters, character accessories, etc. EQ2 uses a very interesting file format, which I want to start documenting as soon as possible. I'll start with the VPL/VPK file format, which is quite simple. In the meantime, if you're curious and want to see the whole list of assets, grab it here. If there are no files being updated, I get the same message as Deanlao. If there are files to download, my launcher magically starts working again.I have been going into my eqII folder and launching the game from there, however just now, launching the game as administrator, my launcher worked. Just starting getting this error today.Exact same message.It wont launch from bypassing Launchpad either. This has worked in the past thought.I tried as admin too. Maybe ill delete a file and it will need to patch. Nope deleting a file didnt work Drivers were just updated a day or two ago too. When I go around the patcher I get this... Login Rejected: The client's version does not match the server's. Please re-run the patcher. Lateana Older than Dirt, Playing EQII since 2004 I started having this issue a while back and over time its gotten so bad that I am never able to use the launch Pad with any of my accounts. Now I can't even use the EQ2.exe to log onto the game. don't use the eq2.exe use the Everquest2.exe That is the go around I was talking about, and even that doesn't work for me.
