Only map editor entirely dedicated to the largely forgotten Windows port, it actually has a tonne of features. My favourite feature is the set of 'build everywhere' shortcuts that let you do things like irrigate and railroad the whole world with a single click. It was also the first editor of any kind to have DOS to Windows save conversion. This editor was almost completely lost as the author only put it online for a short while. A lucky conversation years later between users CivZ and Blake00 led to its rediscovery and addition to the downloads centre.Release Thread: DarkPandaRelease Year: 2013 Cool Feature: Too many to name, this is the most modern and fully featured editor to date. As well as the usual map and save editing functionality you'd expect, it also acts as a mod sdk (allowing graphics changes) and unofficial patch. The EXE patching allows you to customise your Civ experience in ways that would have seemed impossible before, and you can even fix long standing bugs like the end game pollution bug and arctic terrain glitching. CivWin support was also added later allowing DOS to Windows save conversion and for the first time, Windows back to DOS as well.Release Thread: Last edited: Jan 11, 2024 #3 Cived (aka Civ 1 Editor)Author: GaborkaRelease year: 2001View attachment 669180Cool Feature Example: It's a full featured Civ editor running in Excel! But mainly, it was (to my knowledge) the first open source implementation of the map loading/saving logic and opened the door

#1 Many people are debating whether "CivRev" is worth inclusion into the Civilization line of games. Personally, I think it is.What about you??? #2 This is the first Civ game since Civ 1 which has Sid as lead designer, how could it not. #3 because of civ rev i wont have to stop playing the civ game when i'm forced of my PC by my brother! #4 This is the first Civ game since Civ 1 which has Sid as lead designer, how could it not. Good Point. Personally, I think that Firaxis is using CivRev as a test bed for features they might include in Civ 5... #5 I doubt that very much...CivRev is a completely new line of Civ, and I doubt many(if any) of its features make it into Civ5 because most of its (new)features are done in the interests of simplification of micromanagement...the rest of its features were already present in Civ, and have just been brought together into a single game now. #6 This is the first Civ game since Civ 1 which has Sid as lead designer, how could it not. QFT.......... #7 Not really sure how anyone can have a valid opinion on this, since it hasn't actually been released yet. #8 For me it is yes becouse every game that i have tested that sid have got his hand on have been great and i really need strategy game on my ps3.hope demo come soon #9 Nope, they just trying to expand. For me Civ will stay on PC and Mac, not on Nintendo Station 3ii. #10 I have long awaited a console version of the Civ series! I am seriously looking forward to this game. #11 Nope, they just trying to expand. For me Civ will stay on PC and Mac, not on Nintendo Station 3ii. wrong sarcasm for consoles, it's been put on indefinite hold on the wii, and is only coming out for the PS3 and Xbox 360. #12 wrong sarcasm for consoles, it's been put on indefinite hold on the wii, and is only coming out for the
