I saw the Godot part and didn't think it would have borrowed from Quake, maybe there's hope... I've been enjoying more mods than new games recently. When devs make something for pure love instead of money the results tend to be good. Eg.- Stalker GAMMA- RLCraft- Ashes 2063 series (A dooom total conversion mod)- Quake Arcane Dimensions- Kerbal space program realism overhaul- Krastorio- Morrowind refined- Portal reloaded I agree.
