Is this why KIWI Syslog is not showing anything in its console? How do I disable the sysylog in Orion and just use KIWI? To Disable the NCM and Orion NPM Syslog Service, please do the Following:Go into Start> Run and type in Services.msc and select OKselect the Solarwinds NCM Syslog Service and the Solarwinds Syslog Service Right Click both of the Services and go inyo Properties. Select Disabled in the Drop Down and select Stop to stop the Service, then Select OKIn the Services.msc window, right click on the Kiwi Syslog Server and select Start. We use Orion NPM and Kiwi Syslog, but Kiwi is installed on a different server. Our network devices are all set to report everything to Orion, but certain critical devices are also configured to report to Kiwi.I keep a terminal session open to the Kiwi server and can see real time issues and messages. The same info is available in Orion, but not as quickly, and not as simply parsed.Kiwi is easy to customize to page/e-mail alerts, and especially simple to set thresholds for the alerts. It'll never replace NPM, but it fits a great niche in my network management tool environment.Integrating with SolarWinds NPM - BMC

Hello,I've seen a few discussions that talk about the "Windows event log forwarder".A very basic question - is this a Solarwinds component, Microsoft or a third party? I would be grateful if somebody can point me in the direction of where to obtain a copy....Many thanks,Kevin S. Hi,It is a Solarwinds additional component available on your customer portal if you have an up to date maintenance. on Additional Components > Orion NPM components > Windows Event Forwarder. Thanks,Yann Hi Yann,Many thanks, I didn't investigate those links. I don't find the website that intuitive....It has been downloaded, installed, configured and setup the alert in syslog viewer. It does just what we need. Many thanks for your help.Best wishes,Kevin S. Hi Yann,is there any way so i can get the windows event forwarder? i'm running for NPM in demo version, so i dont have a privilege to get in from support.solarwinds.comthanks,Guruh Hi Yann,You may want to try SNARE. It's open source (free) and has some additional capabilities that are very useful.-v A 30-day evaluation copy of the SolarWinds Log Forwarder is also available when you do a Kiwi Syslog Server evaluation. (As Yann noted, the full version is available from your SolarWinds Customer Portal after you have purchased a commercial product.) You can find the Log Forwarder trial executable in the Kiwi Syslog evaluation Zip file like this.Once you have it installed, access it from the Start Menu.Once the configuration dialog is up:1) Click on the "Syslog Servers" tab to add your syslog server.2) Click on the "Subscriptions".
